Hey, I'm Steve Martin.

I love to dance. When given the option, I will always choose to dance with a partner. Dancing alone is okay and can be fun, but dancing with a woman is beyond comparison. For me, it's so much more enjoyable to take control and sweep a woman off her feet while she spins and twirls across the floor...and judging by look on her face...she's loving it too!

My Story

I've been an educator and entertainer for over 35 years. I began my dancing career at the age of 19. I was working as a 'temp' with the Canadian government and was bored silly. One day as I was flipping through the classified section of the newspaper I came across an ad for a dance studio looking for dance instructors. So I called them and jokingly asked, 'Do you have to know how to dance to be a dance instructor?'. They said, 'No.' To which I replied, 'Perfect, I'm your man.' I spent 3 months training at that studio before hearing about an opportunity at another studio and moving on. At that second studio I met the woman who would a year later be my wife. We moved to Ottawa, Ontario and opened an Arthur Murray Franchised Dance Studio. In the 25 years that we owned the studio I achieved many different goals. I reached the highest level of certification as a Certified Master Examiner. I competed professionally and with students all over the world, winning numerous titles and Top Teacher Awards. I choreographed for stage, TV, and Hollywood films. But most importantly, I developed a new way of teaching. The studio method, while very profitable, was not the best method. It is not the best method. It is not the fastest method. And it certainly is not the cheapest method. So I started teaching my students differently and their outstanding achievements are a testament to my system's success.

I also created The Gladstone Theatre. A live theatre venue where I produced over 65 live shows in just 8 years. I also wrote, directed, choreographed, and acted in those 8 years. I eventually decided to retire and sold everything. After travelling for a couple of years I became bored. Retirement doesn't suit me. I needed something to do, and the thing that I'm most passionate about is teaching dance. It may not seem like it, but knowing how to dance CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE for the better. It really is a transformative skill. I have hundreds of stories I could tell about how lives have been dramatically improved by learning to dance.

So I developed this course and am offering it to the world because everybody should know how to dance. The world would be a much better place if everybody danced together.
